If you have the time, I urge you to listen to this sermon by John MacArthur on the ending of Mark. If you watched both of the Mark videos from The Bible Project, they touched slightly on the ending written as not being original to the text. This sermon gives a very good argument for the book ending with verse 8 without the Bible losing credibility or being errant.
And *this* sermon gives a very good defense for why the Book should continue as we have it.
